However, as a teenager, he reflected the skills in retailing, selling oil and setting up fritters stalls. Although he showed little interest in formal education in his childhood, he grew up to be a hardworking, intelligent and tenacious young man. He was raised along with his siblings - sister: Trilochanaben, and brothers: Ramnikbhai, Jasuben and Natubhai. Born in a ModhBaniya family on December 28, 1932, he was the second child of Hirachand Gordhanbhai Ambani (father) and Jamunaben Hirachand Ambani (mother).ĭhirubhai Ambani spent his childhood in his birthplace, Chorward, Junagadh in Gujarat.
